FEATURED READER: Mari Sloan

Mari SloanRoad Trip
Born into a Georgia family of eccentrics and visionaries, Mari Sloan carries her heritage of storytelling from the Deep South to the hills of Southern California. Educated in counseling, and formerly a family services caseworker with volunteer experience in disaster relief with the American Red Cross, she is no stranger to the perverse working of the human mind. Her novels, BEAUFORT FALLS and ROAD TRIP, are portraits of humanity at its best, its worst, and sometimes its funniest.

She has also published short stories, poetry, articles, and was a co-editor for an online and in-print literary magazine. Partnered with her husband, she also has experience in cover design, publishing and loves simple photography.

Mari will be reading from ROAD TRIP. Here’s the blurb: ROAD TRIP is a cosmic suspense thriller, the sequel to BEAUFORT FALLS, and the fate of Earth depends on this motley crew’s trip across America. Charlie and Molly from BEAUFORT FALLS are joined by a cast of unlikely characters including a child-like old man, a Chinese princess, and a bear-like director with no memory. With the help of an unlikely character from Las Vegas and a tough Native American kid, not only is this crisis survived but a crime from the beginning of the first book, BEAUFORT FALLS, is solved. It’s a spine-tingling race to the finish with passages that stimulate thought about human nature and the fragility of our Universe. Ending in Los Angeles in Chinatown, it’s a story to remember, with each chapter beginning with the perfect fortune cookie quote.
