Ransom Notes is published monthly for the benefit of members of the Los Angeles Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
The editor welcomes items of interest to the membership. All articles should be submitted in electronic format. Please copy into your email as well as sending an attachment. Send submissions to SinCLAEditor@gmail.com. Deadline for submissions is the 10th of the month prior to the date of the issue.

ALL POINTS BULLETINS – MEMBERS ONLY
This section covers classes offered, notices of book publication, etc. Author Members receive up to 150 words at no charge; additional text up to 250 words is $5.00, a photo or graphic image is $5.00. Deadline: must be submitted on the 10th of the month to be included in the following month’s issue. INCLUDE: the name of the event, date, location, contact/website. The printed size of the graphics/pictures is at the sole discretion of the Ransom Notes Editor.
CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS
Magazines, websites, contests requesting submissions: if there is no charge to author for submission, your info will run free (see the info that will be included at no charge). If there is a charge, please open the document above titled Ransom Notes Advertising. INCLUDE: the name of the event, deadline date to enter (if applicable), date of contest/issue/etc, contact info and website. Submission guidelines will not be printed, they must be available on your website.
Ransom Notes will not edit info; provide it accurately and completely. Only info above will be printed, no other info will be included. Deadline to submit info via email is the 10th of month for the following month’s issue. Payment must be made via Paypal by the same date. Paypal address: firstname.lastname@example.org (add a note describing what payment is for).
Information on upcoming writing conferences is included on our “Criminal Pursuits” page, and will include: name, dates, location and contact. Any conference that wishes to list added info or provide a display ad, see the pdf file above titled Ransom Notes Advertising.
This applies to members only. SinC/LA will only accept articles written by its membership. The Editor determines inclusion in Ransom Notes based upon word count, relevance, and available space. Articles should cover only writing-related news. We may also consider articles from members of other SinC chapters.
Announcements must come directly from the bookstore. We will not charge bookstores. There will be no separate departments devoted to them at this time. Any signing info sent should apply only to SinC authors.
Submitters are responsible for all text, graphics, and pictures. Submitters are also responsible for accuracy of information, as Ransom Notes doesn’t have fact-checkers. Any item exceeding the appropriate word count will not run.
