You Are Wanted by Sisters in Crime/LA!
Who are we? We are:
- a friendly group of writers helping each other manage the rough
terrain we often endure
- a warm group of readers who love the mystery genre and love to be
involved with others that often write that which we love to read
- a cordial group of booksellers, agents and others in the industry
who love and support the mystery genre
- a non-judgmental group of ordinary people who share a common
passion—the mystery. If you share this passion, whether or not you
fit neatly into a category above, we'd love for you to
join
our family.
- Membership open to both women and men.
What we offer our published writers:
- monthly meetings with opportunities to read from your work and
learn from expert speakers (or perhaps be one yourself)
- an opportunity to sell your books at all our meetings and events
through Crime Time Books
- a chance to network with writers and others in the field—one of
the most important aspects of a writing career
- a chance to submit articles and short stories related to the
mystery genre for possible publication in Ransom Notes™
- special seminars to help you perfect your craft
- opportunities through our Speakers' Bureau to schedule appearances
in the greater Los Angeles area
- opportunities to sign your books at our booths at all the major
regional events, including the LA
Times Festival of Books
- opportunities to submit short stories for our anthologies
- a chance to mingle with hundreds of mystery readers throughout the
year
What we offer our unpublished writers:
- monthly meetings to learn more about the craft and related fields
(like law enforcement, bio-terrorism, and medicine) from experts
- a chance to meet published authors and learn some tricks of the
trade
- a chance to submit short stories or poetry to Ransom Notes™
What we offer readers:
- monthly meetings featuring published authors' readings and special
guest speakers
- a chance to meet some of your favorite mystery authors in an
intimate setting
- Ransom Notes™, our online monthly newsletter, which will
keep you up-to-date on our published authors' events, book signings,
and fiction and non-fiction written by some of the best writers
around today—Sisters in Crime/LA members!

- Sisters in Crime memberships follow the calendar
year
- You must be a member of SinC
National to join SinC/LA
- Please fill out the two
applications, one for LA and the other for National
and send them with your checks to the addresses
indicated
- Dues are:
National $40
